may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and
with His Son Jesus Christ.” -1 John 1:3
We have had the privilege of
living and working cross-culturally with youth and their families through
Bridge Ministry of Acadiana, Inc. for the past five years. Through our time there
God has continually shown us His great love for us and the world. Due to the
very real struggles of this under-resourced community we have been stretched well
beyond our comfort and abilities and have had to rely on his mercy and power as
we have sought to proclaim His love to a hurting people. We have attempted this
through making their neighborhood our home and working with the youth of our
community through BMA. From day one we joined their vision to see hope, peace
and life for our community. We’ve been honored to watch God bring much healing,
restoration and joy to the youth and their families.

Through our local church,
Northside Baptist, we have the opportunity to take the lessons we’ve learned
and put them into practice in another neighborhood in Lafayette. Our desire is
to see this community reconciled to God and others, while believing in the same
hope, peace and life that we have already seen. We have recently moved into
this neighborhood and are beginning to investigate how we can love our neighbors
with the love we’ve experienced through Christ and His Church. We'll be posting pictures of our new home soon!
