Upcoming Travel

If you're interested we've uploaded a Travel Clock that you can track the time while we travel.

We'll be flying out of P.R. and into Atlanta Wednesday morning. After a lay-over there we'll fly to Mumbai, India and stay in Pune.
We'll then go to Thailand where we'll visit 2 cities- Bangkok and Khonkaen.

If there's an emergency and you have to get in touch with us we'll be able to check our email occasionallly.

Arriving in Puerto Rico

We're finally here! We had a great flight and landed in the airport in P.R. at 10:45pm and were greeted by two staff here. First thing we noticed when walking out was the humidity, definitely a tropical island! We stayed up late watching the BCS National Championship with a few of the guys since we missed it during our flight.

When we got home we were amazed with our home! It's a beautiful 4 b.r. house that the pastor and his wife live in with their children. We are staying in it since they'll be away for language training. We'll also have our own vehicle that will be very convenient! Driving here is fast-paced and aggressive but we felt pretty comfortable.
We've had a little orientation, been able to meet most of the team at the ice cream social they had for us last night, and have seen some of the city by running errands.
There is another guy here doing the Discover program with us now and there may be another couple living with us if they are able to raise all of their support by next week.

So far things are going great and we're adjusting well. We had a little jet-lag but were able to really rest today and are ready for what's to come.

Oh and unfortunately our phone company has been giving us trouble with our plan so we are unable to use our phones at the moment. We're sorry if you've been contacting us and we've wanted to call. However, we won't be able to afford 69 cents/min.

Itinerary

Jan. 8th - Fly out of Houston at 4:30 (F.Y.I. Puerto Rico is in the Atlantic time zone, which puts it 2 hours ahead of most of you)

Jan. 14th - Fly to Mumbai, India. Stay a week in Pune, India and then another week in Bangkok, Thailand.

Jan. 28th - Return from exposure trip to Puerto Rico.

Feb. 2nd - Start seminary classes. A typical day will be classes and meetings in the morning and community outreach in the evenings.

I hate to wake you up to say goodbye...

But, Im leavin on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again...

(Well actually, it's May 18th for those interested, haha)

Wow, it seemed that this time would never come, but it has flown by! We've said goodbye to our coworkers and friends in Lafayette, moved out of our apartment, celebrated the holidays with family and are now just less than 2 days away from boarding a plane for Puerto Rico.

So are we ready? For the most part. We have everything we need and are excited about starting this new part of our journey. Of course it's sad to leave those we love and the things we know. But we're more confident than ever that this is exactly where we're supposed to be. We have 111% of our support committed. That's over $18,000 raised in 4 months!! It's neat that through giving people are able to affect another part of the world by helping us to go. And there's no doubt this will greatly impact our lives in a enormous way!

This is where we again say THANK YOU!! Everyone has been extremely supportive and helpful and we appreciate this far more than words can say! Please pray as we begin the first part of this trip. There will be a lot of transitions as we adjust to the culture, travelling and getting to know the others on our team.
