Seasons

When I look at our lives, they're separated by these distinct seasons. Like, that was when events were happening such as athletics/school... sleepless nights with an infant...

Then when I look deeper, I see periods of time that are mixed in with those life events.
For example, there is the stretch of time for each of us individually, where God was opening our eyes to His love for us. This eventually led to our repentance and faith in Jesus as our savior.


 Another lesson occurred during those first few years of marriage where we were learning to come together as a couple and not as two individuals.

Puerto Rico

I can identify many, but nowhere near all of the past and present seasons of our lives. There are a couple major themes;however, that have been going on in our lives lately. You could call them passions, callings, whatever you like. But to jump back into this blogging thing I thought it'd be a good idea to share with you some of these things. You've probably affected at least one of these areas and it's shaping this new season of life that is unfolding for our family. (More to come on that) So here's the first:

Jason and Toi

Reconciliation - As we grow in understanding God's mercy to free us from sin and to give us a new identity as a son and daughter of God Himself, we've grown in wanting that same peace with God for others. We've also seen that despite what we may think, we as humans are deeply divided based on many things, including economics, race and denomination. God desires us to be unified in Christ. We are learning much by becoming the minority for a change, choosing to limit ourselves in regard to spending, and working with people from different Christian denominations. Humility has proven to be what is most necessary and desirable, albeit, not easy. True reconciliation requires both parties to humble themselves, look past privilege and stereotype, hurt or distrust and see one another through God's eyes.
Here are some passages that have brought this clearly into view

2 Cor. 5:17-20 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself, not counting their trespasses against them and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation."


Galatians 3:28-29 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to the promise."
